Returns & Refund Policy
Rules for eligible returns, refunds and disputes on BidnBuy, including the separate AS IS rule for auction purchases.
1. Purpose and Scope
This Policy explains when a BidnBuy buyer may cancel an order, return an item or receive a refund. It applies primarily to eligible non-auction marketplace purchases.
Auction purchases are governed separately by the BidnBuy Auction Rules.
2. Statutory Rights
Nothing in this Policy excludes a consumer right or remedy that applicable Nigerian law does not permit BidnBuy or a seller to exclude.
3. Eligible Non-Auction Returns
- The wrong item was delivered.
- The item materially differs from its listing.
- The item arrives damaged or a material defect was not disclosed.
- The item is counterfeit or unlawfully represented.
- The seller fails to fulfil the transaction.
- A duplicate or erroneous charge is confirmed.
- A refund is otherwise required by applicable law.
4. Change-of-Mind Returns
BidnBuy does not guarantee change-of-mind returns. Availability may depend on the transaction type, product category, seller terms, item condition and applicable law. Any applicable restriction should be disclosed before purchase.
5. Auction Items — AS IS
Buyers and bidders are responsible for reviewing the auction listing, photographs, description, condition information and other information made available before bidding.
A winning bidder cannot return an auction item or request a refund merely because the bidder changed their mind, no longer wants the item, later finds a different price, the item displays characteristics consistent with its disclosed condition, or the bidder failed to review information clearly disclosed before bidding.
This restriction does not exclude a remedy which applicable law does not permit BidnBuy or a seller to exclude, including where applicable in cases involving fraud, material misrepresentation or material non-conformity with the description relied upon for the transaction.
6. Return and Dispute Process
For an eligible non-auction claim, the buyer should report the issue through the designated BidnBuy support or dispute process and preserve the item in substantially the condition received except to the extent reasonably necessary to inspect it.
BidnBuy may request order details, photographs, video, packaging evidence, delivery evidence or other information reasonably necessary to investigate the claim.
7. Escrow, Refund Method and Timing
Where funds remain held or settlement has not completed, BidnBuy may pause release while an eligible dispute is reviewed.
Approved refunds will normally be returned through the applicable supported refund rail. Timing may depend on BidnBuy's review, the financial provider, banking networks and the transaction method.
8. Seller Responsibility
Where an eligible return results from seller fraud, material misrepresentation, counterfeit goods, undisclosed material defects or another seller breach, BidnBuy may recover associated amounts or costs from the seller where legally and contractually permitted.
